San Jose, Calif. – The San Jose State men’s golf team will compete twice next week; at the Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore., and then at the U.S. Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
Oregon Duck Invitational
The Oregon Duck Invitational will be contested on the 7,020-yard, par-72, Robert Trent Jones designed Eugene Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, March 25 and 26.
Monday will feature 36 holes in a shotgun start format beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday will be 18 holes of play with tee times and gets underway at 8:30 a.m. The starting order will be determined by Monday’s results.
The Spartans have played in this event in each of the last three years and finished in sixth place the last two years. The 15-team field includes top-25 teams No. 4 Washington, No. 20 SMU and No. 24 Saint Mary’s. Fans can follow the action on golfstat.com.
San Jose State heads up the peninsula to the Stanford Golf Course for the U.S. Invitational. The three-day, 54-hole event takes place Thursday through Saturday, March 28-30 on the 6,727-yard par-70 track.
The three-day event will begin at 8:00 a.m. morning with teams going off the No. 1 and No.10 tees.
San Jose State has had top-10 finishes in each of the last two times they have competed in the U.S. Intercollegiate. This year’s event features four top-25 programs led by No. 7 Southern California and including the host No. 9 Stanford, No. 13 TCU and No. 24 Saint Mary’s among the 17 teams competing.
