San Jose State is one of seven top-100 teams entered in the Bandon Dunes Championship men's golf tournament hosted by Gonzaga University, March 11-12.
Sixteen teams and 10 more individual entries are competing for top honors at the Bandon (Ore.) Dunes Golf Course.
"This place is unreal," describes San Jose State coach John Kennaday about the 6,732-yard, par 72 Scottish links style course.
The Spartans are shaking up their lineup for their second spring season tournament. Sophomore Daniel Semmler earned the fifth spot in the lineup to join seniors Mark Hubbard and Drew Nottenkamper and juniors Jay Myers and Matthew Hovan. Hubbard is ranked 182nd in the March 9 GolfStat national rankings.
As a team, San Jose State is ranked 86th by GolfStat. #4-Florida, #27-Washington, #37-Oregon, #40-Oregon State, #68-Vanderbilt, and #95-Mercer are the top-100 teams in the field.
Boise State, Saint Mary's, Loyola Marymount, Colorado, Utah Valley, Northern Colorado, South Carolina, University of British Columbia and host Gonzaga round out the field.
All 90 golfers will play 36 holes on March 11 and 18 holes on March 12.
