National Invitational Tournament Begins Saturday For Men's Golf

Scott Munger will play in his first event of the spring season for SJSU.

The San José State men's golf team will join a field of 15 teams at the National Invitational Tournament (NIT), hosted By the University of Arizona, beginning Saturday, February 28.

The play five; score four, formatted event will have 18 holes on Saturday, Sunday and Monday at the 7,262-yard par 73 Catalina Course at OMNI Tucson National.

The Spartans will play alongside Mountain West foes Colorado State, New Mexico, Wyoming and #23-San Diego State. The NIT will be a preview for the five MW schools, as the conference championship in early May will be held at the same course.

California, at No. 22 in the country is a second top-25 team in the field (rankings according to Golfstat).

Also in the field are: Iowa State, New Mexico State, Oregon State, San Diego, Santa Clara, St. Mary's (CA), TCU UTEP, and host Arizona.

Head coach John Kennaday will use the lineup of: Cody Blick, Landon Polterock, Scott Munger, Marcus Potter and Taylor Bromley.
