Spartans 16th At Amer Ari Invitational

Waikoloa, Hawaii-----Jay Myers, Drew Nottenkamper and Ryan Collins each posted two-over par 74's as the best San Jose State score in the final round of the 12st annual Amer Ari Invitational men's golf tournament.

As a team, the Spartans posted an 878 team score and finished in 16th place on the par 72, Waikoloa Kings' Course.

Oklahoma State took the team title with an 830 score. Texas at 835 and UCLA at 836 rounded out the top three teams in the 20 team field that included 12 teams ranked in the top-50. San Jose State, ranked 85th in the final GolfStat poll for the fall, did finish ahead of #34-Florida State.


Oregon's Daniel Miernicki won a playoff involving Texas' Bobby Hudson and UCLA's Patrick Conley. The three players finished 54 holes with 203 scores.

Matthew Hovan was the top San Jose State finisher tying for 65th place at 219. Mark Hubbard and Myers each posted a 221 score to tie for 72nd. Nottenkamper's 224 tied for 86th and Collins came in at 225 tying for 91st.

The Spartans return to action at the Bandon Dunes Championships, March 11 and 12.
