Burlington, Iowa ---- After a four-hour rain delay on Monday, San José State went out and shot a 12-over 300 in the second round of the Golfweek Conference Challenge. The result backs the Spartans up from fifth to sixth place on the team leader board with 18 holes remaining in the tournament.
Cody Blick was the low man for SJSU, shooting a one-under 71 with two birdies and a bogey. He's currently in a tie for seventh place on the individual leader board at even par after 36 holes. LSU's Stewart Jolly leads the field at -11 after carding a 66 Monday.
Scott Munger got off to a solid start, making three birdies on the back nine of a damp 7,222-yard Spirit Hollow Golf Course. However, three double-bogeys in a four-hole stretch brought Munger back to +3 for the round and +5 overall. He remains tied for 24th place.
LSU was the only team under par on Monday and extended its lead to 17 shots over second-place SMU at even par. Four of the top six individuals are LSU Tigers.
The Golfweek Conference Challenge ends Tuesday with the final 18 holes beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Fans can follow all of the action with live scoring updates provided by GolfStat.
