Kevin Velo Captures Best Career Finish at Bandon Dunes Championship

Bandon, Ore.--- Kevin Velo, had his best career finish in the final round of the Bandon Dunes Championship. Velo finished the tournament tied for ninth place shooting a two-over par 74 in round three. This was the Sophomore’s first top-10 finish of his career. He had a total three-day score of four-under par 212.

The San Jose State University men’s golf team shot 20-over par in round three. The Spartans finished the tournament at Old MacDonald Golf Course in 14th place with a total score of 905.

Matthew Murray had the best score for a Spartan in round three shooting one-over par. Murray tied for 56th with a total score of 10-over par 226.

Scott Munger concluded the three-day tournament with a final score of 16-over par 232.

Tied at 86th place is Henrik Sohlberg and William Barnett who both shot 23-over par 239 in the tournament.


 

 

Oregon won the tournament with a staggering 21 stroke lead over second place Texas Tech. Oregon had a team score of 28-under par, 836.

Hannes Ronneblad from Texas Tech won the tournament shooting 10-under par 206. Oregon’s Wyndham Clark, and Edwin Yi both tied for second, shooting eight-under par 208.
