Tucson, Ariz. --- Clody Blick's 1-under 71 was the low round of the day for the San José State men's golf team, which was +11 on the final round of the National Invitational Tournament (NIT) in Tucson, Ariz.
The Spartans shot 303-293-299-895 (+31) on the 7,200-yard par 72 Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National and finished in 14th place out of 15 teams.
It was Blick's second sub-par round of the event, and it included five birdies. He shot 71-75-71-217 (+1) for the tournament and was SJSU's top finisher in 12th place.
Scott Munger began the final round in 12th place, but an 87 (+15) on Monday dropped him to 63rd. He shot 72-71-87-230 (+14).
#22-California was one of only two teams in the field to shoot under par in the final round, and the Bears claimed the victory with the winning score of 856 (-8).
Iowa State's Scott Fernandez took individual medalist honors shooting 70-66-69-205 (-11). It was a 7-shot victory over Arizona's George Cunningham and San Diego State's Xander Schauffele at -4.
The Bandon Dunes Championship on March 13-15 is up next for San José State.
