In an effort to promote breast cancer awareness and the benefits of early detection, San Jose State Athletics and its multimedia rights holder, Spartan Sports Properties, announced today that Good Samaritan Hospital will again have a significant presence at Spartan Football Homecoming, which is this Saturday, October 26.

Good Samaritan Hospital's connection with Spartan Nation will take place all day on the special "THINK PINK" game day, when San Jose State plays host to the University of Wyoming at Spartan Stadium. Kick is scheduled for 4 p.m. PST. This "THINK PINK" game will provide Good Samaritan Hospital visibility on the front cover of the game-day program, videoboard coverage throughout this game and all remaining home games, as well as visibility on Spartan Radio Network and the official athletics website, www.sjsuspartans.com.

Additionally, during halftime, a representative of Good Samaritan Hospital will have the opportunity for a five-minute radio interview to promote the hospital's breast cancer awareness initiatives and physician referral network. During all home games, Good Samaritan Hospital has been engaging with fans and interacting with tailgaters during SJSU's pre-game Fan Fiesta. This partnership allows for booth space, signage and unprecedented opportunities to connect with Spartan fans, alumni and student body. On Wednesday, Oct. 23, Good Sam CEO Paul Beaupre MD will be at the live Coach Caragher Show at 5 p.m. at Willow Street Pizza to tell radio listeners more about their SJSU partnership and goals for early detection breast cancer.

Dr. Beaupre says, "Fighting breast cancer is similar to the Spartan's battle on the field of play. You want to get ahead early, sustain your lead with good decisions and knowledge about your opponent and fight your way to the goal, this time beating cancer instead of the Cowboys." On Game Day, the hospital will distribute limited edition pink knit beanies embroidered to commemorate the Good Sam/Spartan partnership.

"This is a terrific partnership with Good Samaritan Hospital and they have so much beneficial information to share with our Spartan community, fans and alumni," Patrick Purcell - Jones, account executive for Spartan Sports Properties, a property of Learfield Sports. "They have been an outstanding partner for the Spartans, and we're pleased to have them back with us again for homecoming."

In addition to San Jose State, Learfield Sports manages multimedia rights for more than 50 collegiate institutions and associations, and titles the Learfield Sports Directors' Cup with award co-founders NACDA and USA Today. The company's multimedia rights encompass numerous content distribution platforms to deliver the passion of college athletics across radio, television and digital networks to fans globally.
