For more than 20 years, the radio play-by-play home of San José State University football is the Empire Broadcasting Network. Now, Spartan fans can get all they want to know about this year's Spartans every Tuesday morning on KRTY-FM and Wednesday evening on KLIV-AM.
San José State University coach Ron Caragher is multiplying his presence on the San José-based Empire Broadcasting Network for the 2014 football season.
The Spartans' head coach returns for his second year of the Ron Caragher Radio Show every Wednesday starting August 27 on KLIV (1590 AM, San José), the flagship home of San José State football broadcasts. Shows will air at 8:00 p.m. and then be available on www.kliv.com
The Ron Caragher Radio Show is pre-recorded before a live audience at Willow Street Pizza located at 1072 Willow Street in San José. The first show dedicated to the August 28 season-opening game against North Dakota will be taped, Tuesday, August 26, beginning at 5:00 p.m. Justin Allegri, the Spartans' radio play-by-play voice, is the host. Future shows will be recorded on Wednesdays also at 5:00 p.m.
The Spartans head coach also is on the air with Allegri following every San José State game with a post-game wrap-up of what took place on the field.
And, for the first time, Spartan football fans can get an early morning look at the team regularly when Coach Caragher guests every Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. on KRTY, 95.3 FM, the South Bay's top country and western station, and the FM presence for Empire Broadcasting. Before the Spartans take the practice field for their introduction to the week's game plan, KRTY FM hosts Gary Scott Thomas and Julie Stevens are sure to keep listeners entertained with their views on San José State football.
