Enrolling at San Jose State for the 2018 spring semester and available for spring practice, Kyle is a linebacker prospect. Harmon was one of Northern California’s most prolific tacklers during the 2014 through 2016 seasons at Freedom High in Oakley, Calif. (Coach Kevin Hartwig). He was credited with 405 tackles, 30.5 tackles for loss, 11.0 quarterback sacks, four interceptions, four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries in three varsity seasons.

As a senior, Harmon was a 2016 second-team all-state pick, the Bay Valley Athletic League (BVAL) Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, a first-team San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro, a first-team Mercury News All-Bay Area and a first-team All-BVAL pick as a linebacker and tight end. He also received first-team all-league and honorable mention all-metro honors as a sophomore and a junior.

The two-sport letterwinner also was a member of the Freedom High track and field team. He competed in the 100 meters and the shot put.

Kyle’s current choices for an academic major include business administration, public administration, and computer science. He was a 2017 Northern California Chapter of the National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete award winner for Contra Costa County. His dad, the late Kevin Harmon, played college football for Weber State. Kyle is a native of Walnut Creek, Calif.
