There are 13 returning starters among more than 80 players suiting up for spring practice.

AT SAN JOSE STATE: In his second season with the Spartans... Seeking playing time at a safety position... Signed a National Letter-of-Intent in February 2016.

2016: Completed a redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A first-team All-Pacific View League and his league's Defensive Back of the Year for Rio Mesa High in Oxnard, Calif. (Coaches Jim Bittner and Bob Gregorchuk),.. Played quarterback, safety, outside linebacker and wide receiver during his high school career... Played safety and wide receiver as a senior... Was in on 65 tackles on defense and caught 26 passes for 403 yards and five touchdowns in 2015... JNamed his team's Most Valuable Player... Was a 2014 All-C.I.F. honoree strictly playing as a safety... Concluded his junior season as a member of USA Football's Under-19 all-star team in the International Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
