One More Football Opportunity At Idaho

Coming off another near-miss by the Spartans, San Jose State travels to Idaho for the December 4 game at the Universityof Idaho's Kibboe Dome. The weekly release now is available.

James Jones brings three decades of coaching experience to San Jose State as the Spartans defensive line coach.

Joining the staff in January 2013, most recently, he was the defensive line coach and special teams coordinator at the University of Northern Colorado in 2011 and 2012.

Jones also coached at Dartmouth (2005, 2008-10), Kentucky State (2007), Kansas State (2006), Prairie View A&M (2004), Texas Southern (1996 as a student assistant, 2003), Wagner (2000-02), Cornell (1999), Morehouse (1998) and Bowling Green (1997 as a graduate assistant).

Besides coaching defensive linemen, Jones was a defensive coordinator at Prairie View A&M and Wagner and a special teams coordinator at Northern Colorado, Kentucky State and Cornell.

Jones completed National Football League coaching internships with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2005 and the Seattle Seahawks in 2010.

The 1998 graduate of Texas Southern has a master's degree in education from Wagner College.
