Community College All-Americans Among First 2017 San Jose State Football Signees

Four mid-year transfers, two of them All-Americans, are joining the Spartans.

A 2016 first-team California Community College All-America, Jake joins the San Jose State for 2017 spring practice as an offensive line prospect. Colman played two seasons for Ventura College (Coach Steve Mooshagian) and was a first-team All-Northern Conference National Division each season.

The three-year starter for Buena High (Coach Tim Gutierrez) in Ventura, Calif., was a left tackle at the high school level. He was a second team All-Channel League player as a sophomore and a first-team pick his junior and senior seasons. Colman concluded his high school career playing in the 2015 Ventura County High School All-Star Game.

Jake plans to major in justice studies. He wants to pursue a master's degree and eventually teach and coach at the community college level. He enjoys playing golf and deep sea and fresh water fishing. His older brother, Dylan Colman, was an outfielder for the 2016 Dakota State University baseball team. Jake is a native of Ventura, Calif.
