Football Picks Up Tempo With 1st Day In Pads

The Spartans look to empty their tank each day and refill it for the next.

AT SAN JOSÉ STATE: Completed five seasons with the Spartans... Primarily used as an offensive right tackle... Played in 49 games with 21 starts... A four-time Academic All-Mountain West honoree... Honored on 2013 National Student-Athlete Day by the National Consortium for Academics and Sport... Signed with the program in February 2012.

2016: Saw action in all 12 games and was the starting right tackle in nine of the last 10 games of the season... Also used on kick-scoring special teams situations.

2015: Played in all 13 games as a reserve offensive lineman... Used mainly in the short-yardage offensive package and on kick-scoring special teams units.

2014: Started all 12 games at offensive right tackle... One of nine players to start every game for San José State... Helped provide the pass protection for San Jose State's quarterbacks to complete at least 60 percent of their passes for the fourth year in a row.

2013: A reserve offensive tackle that played in all 12 games... Played in the offensive line during kick-scoring opportunities.

2012: Completed the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: A left tackle for the Basha High of Chandler, Ariz., team (Coach Bernie Busken) that won nine games each of his two varsity seasons... A 2011 Big 25 team selection by the Arizona Football Coaches Association... A team captain as a senior, he was a second-team all-region choice as a junior.
