Five Spartans received their fourth Academic All-MW recognition.
Head coach Ron Caragher wanted to put the Spartans under the lights and in the spotlight.
AT SAN JOSE STATE: Finished four seasons with the Spartans... 42 games played and two starting calls... Primarily a defensive back and special teams contributor... First joined the program for 2013 preseason drills.
2016: Appeared in all 12 games... Made his only start of the season at New Mexico (10/1) and was credited with four tackles... Season-high five tackles at Boise State (11/4)... Matched his single-season high of 18 tackles... Had a tackle in seven of the team's 12 games... First career interception was in the Portland State victory (9/10).
2015: Saw action in nine games... Was credited with 18 tackles, 1.5 quarterback sacks and pass inerception... Top games of the season were in the New Mexico (10/24) and AutoNation Cure Bowl (12/19) victories... Made his first major college start against New Mexico and was in on six tackles and recovered a late fourth-quarter Lobo fumble to preserve the victory... Had an assisted sack and helped the defense limit Georgia State to 231 yards of total offense in the AutoNation Cure Bowl... Major college high eight tackles vs. San Diego State (10/17)... Credited with his first major college sack in the Boise State game (11/27).
2014: Played in all 12 games... Was credited with a tackle in each of the first three games and at Fresno State (11/8).
2013: Appeared in nine games as a special teams player... Credited with six tackles... Had a season-high three unassisted tackles in the win over #16-Fresno State (11/29)... Also credited with two stops against San Diego State (11/9) and a tackle in the Hawai'i victory (10/5).
HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in football (Coach Eric Perry), basketball and track a field at Pioneer High in San Jose... Led his team with in interceptions his junior and senior seasons... Four interceptions and 16 pass break-ups in 2012... Three interceptions and three pass break-ups in 2011... Named the 2012 Mount Hamilton League Co-Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year... Rushed for 1,008 yards, averaged 9.8 yards per carry and scored 15 touchdowns... Also caught 17 passes for 240 yards and four TDs as a senior... Named the Mount Hamilton League's Most Outstanding Utility Player as as a junior... Concluded his career playing in the 2013 Charlie Wedemeyer High School All-Star Game in San Jose.
