First known San Jose State player honored by the Walter Camp Foundation when he was named the National Defensive Player of the Week for games ending the week of November 24, 2012... 2012: First-team All-WAC defensive back... Two-time WAC Defensive Player of the Week... Walter Camp Football Foundation and College Football Performance Awards National Defensive Player of the Week against Louisiana Tech (11/24)... Tied for third nationally and the WAC leader in interceptions (0.53/game)... Played in 13 games and was starter eight times... Began the year as a defensive back in nickel coverages... Started the last seven games of the season and was an impact player... Finished the season with 67 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions and two fumble recoveries... 46 of his tackles, 6.5 of tackles for loss, six of his interceptions, both fumble recoveries and a blocked punt came in the last seven games... Tied a school record with three interceptions, all in the second half of the Louisiana Tech victory... 2011: Played in 10 games and started in the Hawai'i win (10/14) and against Idaho (11/5)...Saw most of his action as a cornerback...Credited with 18 tackles and had at least one stop in nine of the 10 games he played...Season high five tackles and the game-ending pass break-up vs. Hawai'i...His one assisted tackle for loss was at Louisiana Tech (10/29)...Came up with a pass interception at Brigham Young (10/8).
2010: Played in all 13 games and started nine times...Became a starter the second game of the season...In his first start, credited with eight tackles and a forced fumble against #11-Wisconsin (9/11)...One of six freshmen from the 2010 recruiting class to start at least nine games...Fourth on the team with 74 tackles... Season-high 10 tackles against Fresno State (10/23)...Nine tackles and a forced fumble against Louisiana Tech (11/27)...Team's leading tackler at Nevada (10/9) with 8.0 stops...Interception sealed the win over Southern Utah (9/18).
HIGH SCHOOL: A CalHi Sports first-team all-state and All-CIF selection for Serra High of Gardena, Calif., (Coach Scott Altenberg)...Team won the 2009 C.I.F. Division III state championship...Credited with 65 tackles, 5 pass break-ups and 5 interceptions in 2009...Three-sport letterwinner played basketball and was a sprinter and jumper in track and field...Played eight-man football as a freshman at View Park High in Los Angeles.
