Mountain West Honors Brandon Clarke

Brandon Clarke finished the game 9-for-12 from the field for a game-high 24 points in the win over Bowling Green.

Colorado Springs, Colo. --- San José State University sophomore Brandon Clarke is the Mountain West Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 12-18.
 
The 6-foot-9 forward hit the game-winning basket, a tip-in with 1.2 seconds remaining, to lift SJSU over Bowling Green 77-76 in front of the home crowd on Sunday. His basket gave the Spartans two wins in a row and five victories in the last six outings.
 
The native of Phoenix, Ariz., finished with game-highs of 24 points and 14 rebounds in 27 minutes of action. He scored 20 points in the first period, including eight in a row during a stretch which helped SJSU build a double-digit lead.
 
It is the first Mountain West Player of the Week honor of the season for a Spartan. Clarke and the rest of the San José State men's basketball team close out nonconference play on Wednesday, December, 21 against Southern Utah. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. (PT).
