TOUGH OVERTIME STRETCH ENDS WITH 73-68 LOSS TO PORTLAND
San José State led by as many as 13 in the second half, but Portland came back to force overtime where a Spartan scoring drought lasted over four minutes. The Spartans were out to a quick four-point lead in the overtime period before the dry spell allowed Portland to win the game, 73-68.
BAKER & ROGERS MAKE IMMEDIATE IMPACT
Point guard Jordan Baker and forward Frank Rogers led San José State in scoring with 17 and 16 points respectively in their first game as Spartans against Portland on November 16. The two combined to shoot 50 percent (12-24) from the floor. It was the first game in over a year for both players who sat out the 2013-14 season as redshirt transfers.
