2017-18 Men's Basketball Campaign Officially Begins

Sept. 29, 2017

Men's basketball season at San José State officially began on Thursday afternoon with the first full practice of 2017-18.

This year's team includes four returning letterwinners and one senior, point guard Jalen James, who says he's ready to go for his final campaign.

"It's going to be a dog-fight every night," James said. "If we come out and play hard as a team then we're going to do something special this year."

With just one practice in the books, the Spartans have a long way to go before the regular season opener on November 10 against Antelope Valley.

"The first practice was pretty good," said Spartans new head coach Jean Prioleau. "I think the guys know we have a lot to work on, and they know that defense and rebounding are going to be the keys."

Season tickets are on sale now at the Spartan Ticket Office. You can reach the office by phone at 408-924-7589.
