Aug. 21, 2016

More than 150 San Jose State University student-athletes used a portion of their final weekend before the start of the fall semester to volunteer at the University Housing Services move-in.

Spartan student-athletes from women's water polo, women's swimming and diving, baseball, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, women's basketball, gymnastics and football teamed up to assist any of the 4,200 new and returning students needing help get situated in on-campus living facilities.

The Spartans met on-campus residents from Northern and Southern California, Hawaii and even one from Kansas City, Mo., during the August 20-21 activities. They shared stories about being San Jose State students, places to go around the campus, promoted their intercollegiate athletics participation and encouraged the new residents to check out their home matches.

San Jose State University student-athletes have participated in the Housing Services' campus move-in for almost 10 consecutive years.
