Mountain West Announcement

Spartan Ticket Office

Colorado Springs, Colo. --- San José State's 18-game regular season conference schedule was released by the Mountain West on Tuesday. The Spartans will open up league play on the road at Utah State on Dec. 27 before hosting two in a row at The Event Center.
"We're excited to release our conference schedule as we believe the Mountain West will be a very tough league this year," said Spartans' head coach Dave Wojcik. "We expect this program to keep trending in the direction it's been going and be right in the thick of things as we make our way through the schedule."
Regular season and MW Tournament runner-up Colorado State will be SJSU's opponent for the home opener on Dec. 30. Three days later the Spartans will begin the new year with a home meeting with UNLV.
After a road trip that includes visits to New Mexico (Jan. 6) and San Diego State (Jan. 10), San José State returns to campus for battles against Air Force (Jan. 13) and reigning Mountain West champion Nevada (Jan. 17).
The team's first of two byes takes place on Saturday Jan. 20, with the second coming on Wednesday Feb. 7. Four games will take place between them including a visit to Boise State (Jan. 24) and UNLV (Jan. 31) and home games versus Wyoming (Jan. 27) and New Mexico (Feb. 3).
The trip to Boise will be the only time SJSU sees the Broncos during the regular season. The other one-time opponent during the conference slate is Fresno State, and there will be no love lost between the two rivals when they square off on Valentines Day (Feb. 14) inside The Event Center.
From there the Spartans go back on the road to face Wyoming on Feb. 17 and Nevada on Feb. 21.
San Diego State will appear in The Event Center on Feb. 24 and then the home finale and Senior Night will take place on Feb. 28 against Utah State.
The Spartans conclude regular-season play on the road at Air Force on Mar. 3.
Today's release represents the first phase in the 2017-18 men's basketball schedule process. The Mountain West's national television partners will go through a selection process lasting through the middle of August. The selections may shift Wednesday games to Tuesday and Saturday games to Sunday.

An announcement about television selections will be made on at the appropriate time.

Additionally, the Conference announced the format for the 2018 MW Men's Basketball Championship. The tournament begins with first-round games on Wednesday March 7 and the championship game is set for 3:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, March 10.
