April 30, 2014

San Jose, Calif.--Ryan Singer, a 6-11 power forward who is a 2013 graduate of Heritage High School in Littleton, Colo., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play men's basketball at San José State University beginning with the 2014-15 season, as announced by Spartan head coach Dave Wojcik

Singer spent the past year playing for Massanutten Military Academy in Woodstock, Va.  He averaged 10.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.6 blocks and 3.0 assists per game.  Singer won the Best Western Top-Performing Forward Award at the Fishburne Classic.  His team had a 25-8 record while playing a national schedule at Massanutten.

A three-year starter at Heritage High School, Singer was an All-Continental League selection his senior year.

"Ryan embodies the type of pedigree in a person and player we want in our program," said Wojcik.  "What I love about Ryan is that he has an impeccable character, cares about his success in the classroom and has gotten better every year as a player.  He played a major role in Massanutten's success this year and competed at a very high level.  I am excited about Ryan's future and am very happy to add another quality student athlete to the program."
