HoopDirt.com Release

HoopDirt.com has tabbed San José State head coach Dave Wojcik as the National Coach of the Week (Feb. 6-12), presented by Hoop Group.
Wojcik joins Indiana’s Tom Crean, Baylor’s Scott Drew, North Carolina’s Roy Williams and a host of others as weekly honorees this season. Wojcik is now eligible to receive the HoopDirt.com National Coach of the Year Award presented by the Hoop Group which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2016-17 college basketball season.
Wojcik guided the Spartans (13-10, 6-6 MW) to a pair of wins over San Diego State (2/7) and UNLV (2/11), extending the team’s win streak to four games. It was San José State’s first win over San Diego State as members of the Mountain West and first overall since 1999.
The win over UNLV made it a season sweep of the Rebels, something the Spartans have done just once in the 1993-94 season.
San José State goes for five in a row on Wednesday night at Fresno State. Tip off on the Mountain West Network is set for 7:00 p.m.
