The most recent meeting was a 74-68 Spartan victory in the 2011 WAC Tournament quarterfinal round. Each team posted a regular season road win against the other in 2011. San Jose State’s 92-88 double overtime victory on February 2 was one of two conference road wins last season.

San Jose State-Utah State series:
The Aggies lead the series, 47-21. Utah State has won the last eight meetings including a 58-54 decision in the 2011 WAC Tournament semifinal round.
San Jose State’s last win in the series was a 70-67 decision in San Jose on February 18, 2008.
The last time the Spartans won in Logan was a 55-47 decision on February 25, 1982. Since then, Utah State won the next 19 games these teams played in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

Three double-digit comebacks this season: Since joining the Western Athletic Conference in 1996, San Jose State has 20 wins in games in which it trailed by 10 or more points.
This season, the Spartans have three wins overcoming double-figure point deficits.
The most recent was against CSU Bakersfield. San Jose State was behind, 23-4, in the first half, took a 36-35 lead into the start of the second half and won, 78-70.
Earlier in the season, the Spartans trailed Coppin State by 15 points, 23-8, in the first half and won, 81-66. San Jose State also trailed UTSA by 14 points in the second half before posting a six-point victory.

Shooting Eye More In Focus: San Jose State had his best shooting night in 2012 with its 49.0 percent figure in the CSU Bakersfield win. The Spartans’ 53.6 percent field goal shooting in the second half of the CSU Bakersfield win was the first time in six games San Jose State converted at least 50 percent of its field goal tries in a half.

Free Throw Shooting Back:
Though San Jose State tops the WAC in team free throw shooting at 73.3 percent, the Spartans went through a five-game stretch converting less than 75 percent of their attempts.
In the last two games before the January 26 Idaho contest, the Spartans made 81.6 percent (31-of-38). In the CSU Bakersfield triumph, San Jose State made 83.3 percent (20-of-24) of its free throws - the sixth time this season the team reached or exceeded the 80-percent plateau.

2012 WAC scoring best: Guard D.J. Brown set a San Jose State freshman single-game scoring record with 33 points in the CSU Bakersfield victory. His point total is the most for any player in the 26 games played on January 23 involving a NCAA Division I team and is the most by a conference player this season in games played through January 23.
Brown’s 33 points also are the most scored by a conference freshman in a game since New Mexico State’s Jahmar Young popped for 33 points against Boise State on January 10, 2009.
