PHOENIX – The San José State University baseball team plays its next six games against non-conference opponents starting with a two-game series against the Grand Canyon University Lopes on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10 in Phoenix, Ariz.  The Spartans are 7-13 against non-conference opponents this season.

SJSU leads the all-time series against GCU, 4-1.  The two schools first met in 1997 at GCU when the Spartans swept the three-game series.  Nineteen years later in 2016, the teams met again, this time in San Jose where they split the two-game series.

After the GCU series, SJSU plays a four-game series against the University of San Francisco from Friday, May 12 to Monday, May 15 to close out the non-conference schedule.  The first two-games of the series will be played at San Francisco while the last two will be at San Jose.

#OmahaKnows

“Omaha Knows” is the SJSU baseball program motto.  What matters is what you do when nobody is watching.  But Omaha, Nebraska, home of the College World Series, is always watching.  Omaha knows how you went about your business.  Spartan fans will see the hashtag #OmahaKnows attached to social media posts throughout the baseball season.
