SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San José State University baseball team plays its last conference home series this weekend against San Diego State.  The series finale on Sunday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. PT includes honoring the five seniors on the 2017 SJSU baseball team: Michael Breen, Graham Gomez, Joseph Stefanki, Zach Tanner and Jack Veasey.

As of May 3rd, the Spartans are 1 1/2 games behind fourth place Air Force in the Mountain West conference standings.  The top four teams make it to this year's conference tournament.  After this weekend's three game series, SJSU has one more conference series, against UNLV in Las Vegas for the regular season finale.  In all, SJSU has six more conference games to play.

The Spartans are 6-4-1 at home this season against Mountain West opponents.  The Aztecs are 6-3 on the road against conference foes, taking two out of three games in each of the previous three series played against Nevada, Fresno State and UNLV.

In the Spartans' last outing, a midweek game at Stanford on May 2, the Spartans pitching staff did not allow an earned run.  However, a season-high four errors resulted in four unearned runs, in a 4-3 loss to the Cardinal.
