RENO, Nev. -- San José State's baseball team couldn't slow Nevada's offense in Saturday afternoon's 27-2 loss at Peccole Park.

San José State (10-33, 3-17 MW) yielded runs to Nevada (33-10, 18-5 MW) in each of the Wolf Pack's first six trips to the plate, including multiple runs in five of the six.

Nevada collected 25 hits on the day, including five doubles, a triple and four home runs.

Spartans' starter Hilario Tovar (1-4) lasted just 1.2 innings, but his three earned runs allowed were the fewest of San José State's four pitchers on the day.

Shane Timmons provided the only offense for the Spartans on the afternoon when he blasted Wolf Pack starter Christian Stolo's 2-0 pitch deep over the center field fence for his first career home run. With the two-run blast, Timmons became the third freshman to go deep this season, joining Chris Williams and David Campbell.

Michael Breen (3-4, double) and Campbell (2-4, double) accounted for more than half of San José State's seven hits, with Timmons (1-3, run, home run, 2 RBIs) and Dillan Smith (1-3) also contributing.

Andre Mercurio (0-3) saw his team-best reached base streak in Mountain West games snapped at 17.

Sunday's series finale will get underway at Peccole Park at 1:00 p.m. Nevada will call on righty Jason Deitrich (5-2, 3.12), while Turtle Kuhaulua (1-2, 3.48) will make his first career start for the Spartans.
