SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San José State's baseball team got a first-hand look at the top offense in the Mountain West Saturday afternoon, as Nevada raced to a 22-1 victory over the Spartans at Municipal Stadium.

The Wolf Pack (22-5, 8-3 MW) evened up the series with the Spartans (8-19, 2-9 MW) in convincing fashion, scoring in seven of their trips to the plate and plating multiple runs in five different frames.

Nevada's 21-hit outburst included four home runs, one of them being a grand slam off the bat of shortstop Kyle Hunt.

Kalei Contrades (2-5) took the loss for San José State. The Spartans' ace lasted just 4.0 innings -- his shortest weekend start of the year -- and allowed six runs (four earned) on eight hits. Carter Johnson, Eric Anderson, Jake Swiech and Corey Olivet finished out the game on the mound for the San José State.

Olivet became the fourth Spartan freshman to see time on both the bump and in the field at some point this season, joining Josh Nashed, Turtle Kuhaulua and Dylan Sugimoto. Olivet worked 2.0 scoreless innings and went 1-for-2 at the plate Saturday.

Shane Timmons led the way for the Spartans with a 2-for-3 day at the plate, and C.Olivet, Kuhaulua, Brett Bautista, Dillan Smith, Kyle Morrison and Mitch Ravizza chimed in with a hit apiece. For Ravizza, RBI single was his second base hit of the season, a new career high, and marked his first RBI since his freshman season.

The rubber match between the Spartans and Wolf Pack will get underway Sunday at 1:00 p.m., with Matt Brown (1-3, 3.80) taking the mound against Nevada's Cameron Rowland (2-2, 3.76).
