2017 Spartans Shut Out Alumni, 9-0, On A Combined One-Hitter

Starter Josh Nashed threw 5.1 innings of hitless ball while striking out nine.


Baseball Hosts 2015 Alumni Game

The current Spartans and the alumni braved wet weather to play the annual event.

AT SJSU: Finished his four-year career in 2013...a career .276 batting average (120-for-434) with 60 runs, seven home runs and 62 RBI...recorded 276 putouts as an outfielder with eight assists and made only three errors for a career .990 fielding percentage.

2013: A collegesportsmadness.com Preseason All-WAC selection...played in 55 games and made 51 starts in right field...hit .288 in 198 at bats with a team-leading three home runs...scored 23 runs and was second on the team with 31 RBI...16 multi-hit games and seven multi-RBI games...had the team's season-high 19 games in a row reaching base safely...matched his career-high three hits four times in 2013...3-for-4 in pinch-hit situations...recorded 10 hits and five RBI with three doubles in the first five games of the season...19-for-43 (.442) with 11 runs and 13 RBI during a 13-game hitting streak (3/28-4/19)...3-for-3 with a career-high four runs scored against Texas State (4/19)...3-for-3 with two runs and three RBI at UT Arlington (4/14)...sealed a win over Louisiana Tech with an eighth-inning three-run blast (4/7)...hit a game-winning two-run double in the ninth inning at Sacramento State (5/11)...had four hits and scored a run in the final series of the season which SJSU won 2-1 over CSU Bakersfield to punch a ticket to the WAC Tournament...3-for-12 in three games at the 2013 WAC Tournament.

2012: Played in 45 games with 42 starts - 40 in the outfield and two at designated hitter...Led the team with four homeruns, 21 RBIs, 24 walks and a .436 slugging percentage...Second on the squad with nine doubles, 22 runs scored and a .414 on-base percentage...Hit two homeruns and had four RBIs in the Spartans' 8-4 win over Lehigh (March 8)...Posted a team and career-high 16-game hitting streak from March 6-April 6, during which he hit .327 with five doubles, two homeruns and 11 RBIs while slugging .527...Followed his 16-game hitting streak with streaks of five games and six games, making it a total of 27 out of 29 games from March 6-May 1 in which he hit safely...Went 2-for-3 and walked twice to reach base four times and score two runs in a 4-0 win at Fresno State (April 14)...Had three RBIs while going 2-for-4 with a stolen base, and also had three putouts and an outfield assist in the Spartans' 8-7 win versus Sacramento State (April 29)...Had three outfield assists and committed just one error in 94 total chances...Ended the year on a 30-game errorless streak...Hit .667 (2-for-3) with the bases loaded and .500 (4-for-8) with a runner on third and less than two outs.

2011: Played in 37 games with 16 starts in the outfield...Hit .273 with 21 hits, nine RBIs and two doubles...Batted .500 (2-for-4) with the bases loaded and .667 (4-for-6) with a runner on third and less than two outs...Had six multi-hit games, including back-to-back two-hit games versus Nevada (May 21-22)...Went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBIs and a run scored versus Brown (March 30)...Posted a season-high three hits and two runs scored at UC Davis (May 4)...Had a four-game hitting streak from March 29-April 2, going 6-for-14 (.429) with three RBIs, three runs scored and three walks...Ended his season with nine consecutive starts, where he had 11 hits and raised his batting average 17 points over the stretch.

2010: Appeared in 23 games making three starts in left, one in right and two as a designated hitter...Batted .105 with two hits in 19 at-bats...Debut came as a pinch hitter at Santa Clara (March 5) where he earned a walk...First start came in game one of a doubleheader against BYU (April 3)...Both hits and his RBI on the season came in game two against BYU...Scored his first two runs in the same game...Added runs at Louisiana Tech (April 10), at Wichita State (April 25) and at Fresno State (May 16).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif. (Coach Mike Oakland)...Named a second-team All-West Catholic Athletic League (WCAL) performer as a senior...Helped Saint Francis to the Central Coast Section Division I semifinals...As a junior earned first-team All-WCAL honors...Recognized as an all-section and All-Daily News athlete...In football, was a second-team All-WCAL pick as an offensive lineman and defensive end his senior year.
