On September 1, 2017, Terrance Stratton was named Director of Equipment Operations and Licensing for San José State University's Athletics Department.
Stratton oversees all aspects of the Department’s 20 Division I sports and works directly with both the men's and women's basketball programs, gymnastics, indoor and sand volleyball teams.
Stratton spent the 2016-17 school year, his first at SJSU, as Equipment Coordinator of Olympic Sports.
He joined the Spartans after working as an equipment room graduate assistant at the University of Akron from 2012 to 2014. Prior to Akron, he spent a year as a graduate assistant at Illinois State.
A 2011 graduate of the University of Toledo, he majored in sports management while working as an equipment room assistant for the Rockets Athletics Department from 2009 to 2011. In 2013, he earned a master's degree in sports administration from the University of Akron.
The native of Toledo, Ohio, he is a member of and certified by the Athletic Equipment Managers Association (AEMA). An avid fan of hockey and any sports team in the Toledo area, Stratton is engaged to Ms. Lisa Tuminello.
