Cody Blick, a sophomore men’s golfer, and Hanah Blume, a senior volleyball player, are the Spartan Foundation Student-Athletes of the Month for September, presented by ScholarShare. It is Blick’s first honor of the year, and Blume’s second-consecutive honor.
The Mountain West Men’s Golfer of the Month for September, Blick captured individual medalist honors in both tournaments played. The Danville, Calif., native is the first San José State golfer since Arron Oberholser in 1995-96 to win back-to-back tournaments. He recorded par or better in all six rounds played, opening the season with five straight rounds in the 60s.
Blume was named to the Sacramento State Invitational and Bankers Classic All-Tournament teams in September. The Columbia, Calif., native recorded double-digit kills in all nine matches played, averaging 3.82 kills, 2.91 digs and 4.15 points per set. She also recorded 21 kills and 20 digs against Winthrop to become the 21st San José State player to recorded a 20/20 double-double.
