SPARTAN NOTES: In his second season with the Spartans...expected to be the starter again at third base in his final collegiate season.
2005: Started 38 of 44 games played, hitting .267 with 20 runs scored...12 doubles and 30 RBI were fourth and fifth on team, respectively...earned team’s “Co-Newcomer of the Year” award...drove in three runs in a single game three times, including a 13-4 win over Iona on March 12 in which he went four-for-five at the plate with a pair of doubles...had hit streaks of eight and 10 games during the season...nine multi-hit games.
COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO: Two-time all-conference player at College of San Mateo (Coach Doug Williams)...played third base as a freshman and first base as a sophomore...second-team all-conference choice in 2004...hit .353 with 32 RBI in 2003 to earn first-team all-conference recognition while helping his team to its highest win total in school history.
ARCHBISHOP MITTY: Two-year letterwinner in baseball (Coach Bill Hutton) and football at San Jose's Archbishop Mitty High School...was a first-team all-league and second-team all-section baseball selection as a senior.
NICK: A business marketing major...enjoys snowboarding, golfing and fishing in his spare time...older brother, Shawn Epidendio, was a four-year third baseman through the 2005 season at Santa Clara University...Nick Epidendio was born in Los Altos, Calif., on February 9, 1984.
