San Francisco, Calif. - On Monday, July 6, the San Francisco Giants called up former Spartan Kevin Frandsen (2001-04) from the Triple-A Fresno Grizzlies.
Frandsen replaces Randy Johnson, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list. The Giants host the Florida Marlins in the opener of a three-game series at AT&T Park tonight. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.
This season, Frandsen was called up to the Giants on May 17, and sent back down on May 29. He was then brought up again on June 9, until June 12. He has appeared in nine games for San Francisco in 2009, with eight starts, and 160 contests over a four-year career thus far, at four different positions around the diamond.
