SPARTAN NOTES: In her fourth season with the Spartans...one of three team tri-captains...Academic All-WAC honoree in 2005-06 and 2006-07...2004-05 and 2005-06 San Jose State University “Scholar-Athlete.”
2006: Appeared in 15 games, starting five straight in central defense between the home match with Notre Dame de Namur (9/15) and the contest at UC Irvine (10/1)...credited with 10 shots, two on goal...season high was three shots at Utah State (10/13)...earned the team’s “Circuit Award,” given to the individual who best exemplifies the spirit of Spartan women’s soccer.
2005: Played in 12 games, earning a start at Sacramento State (9/25)...assisted on the final goal of the 4-2 home win over Utah State (10/14) for first collegiate point...took 11 shots, with five on goal.
2004: Played in four games and started once...collegiate debut came at home against IUPUI (9/3)...first college start and shot came against California (9/12) in Moraga, Calif.
SAN LORENZO VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in soccer three seasons at San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton, Calif....named the 2003 Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League “Co-Midfielder of the Year” along with current teammate Brittny Beshore...named her team’s “Most Valuable Player” as a senior...two-time first-team all-league selection.
HEIDI: Journalism major...would like to do some traveling after college before finding a job...enjoys photography and bowling...played club soccer for the SCC Magic, SCC Mirage, De Anza Sharks and Pleasanton Rage...father, Art Romswinckel, was an All-America selection in soccer at San Jose State in 1969, and is a member of the school’s Sports Hall of Fame...has six siblings...Heidi Romswinckel-Guise, born in Santa Cruz, Calif., will be 21 years old during the 2007 season.
