JAKE PETERSON A relative newcomer to organized football, Jake is an offensive line prospect joining the Spartans in the fall. Peterson was a 2009 first-team All Grossmont North League and first-team All-East County choice for West Hills High in Santee, Calif. (Coach Casey Ash) He played left tackle and center on offense and was a defensive tackle. The two-sport letterwinner was a shot put and discus thrower for his track and field team last year. He received second-team all-league honors in track and field in the shot put. Jake plans to major in kinesiology.
Presently, he has an interest in pursuing the sports management curriculum and
is thinking about coaching. He enjoys outdoor activities like skeet shooting,
hunting and fishing. When he was 13-years old, he caught a 6-lbs., 4-ounce bass
in the Colorado River. Peterson grew quickly as a youngster and was considered
to be too big for Pop Warner Football. He did not begin playing the sport until
he was 15-years old. Jake, a native of San Diego, Calif., was born on January
29, 1992. MacIntyre on Jake Peterson: "Jake is a powerful offensive lineman who has good feet and can play all the positions on the offensive line. He has more of a tackle, guard-type body. Jake came on the scene as a senior. We like his up-side and are very excited about him." |
