AT SAN JOSE STATE: In his fifth season with the Spartans...Tops the opening fall depth chart at a running back spot...Also can play linebacker.

2007: Played in three games last season and had his most productive contest for San Jose State in the Utah State win (9/22)...Caught three passes for 26 yards including a 2-yard touchdown reception to open the game’s scoring...Also saw action in the Stanford and Fresno State games.

2006: A versatile running back and special teams member of the Spartans...He saw action in 11 games, rushing three times for 11 yards and catching one pass for five yards and one touchdown...His touchdown reception came in the Louisiana Tech victory...At New Mexico State, he caught a pass for the Spartans’ only two-point conversion on the season...The scoring play in the New Mexico State win marked the first time since 1979 that a pair of brothers scored points in the same game for San Jose State.

2005: Did not see any game action.

2004:..Redshirted the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A football (Coach Joe Biagioni) and track and field letterwinner at Warren High in Downey, Calif.

MORE ON JAMES, JR.: Public relations major...Active in San Jose State campus activities, he has served on the Campus Village Council...His brother, James T. Callier, was a running back from 2004 through 2007 and started during his sophomore through senior seasons...James T. graduated in May 2008 majoring in sociology with an emphasis in criminology...Callier, Jr., expects to complete his bachelor’s degree requirements in December 2008...The Los Angeles native was born on July 22, 1986.
