AT SAN JOSE STATE: Second season with the Spartans...Returning starter at a wide receiver position...Still relatively new to the game...Heading into his third full year of organized football... 2007: Made the biggest splash of any first-year wide receiver in the pass-oriented Western Athletic Conference in 2007...Caught 55 passes for 852 yards and three touchdowns...No other WAC first-year transfer had at least 50 receptions or 650 receiving yards a year ago...Teamed with Kevin Jurovich to give the Spartans two 800-plus yard pass catchers for the second year in a row and third time in school history...Had three 100-plus yard receiving games...Biggest game came in the Utah State victory (9/22) with season-highs of 10 receptions for 180 yards and two touchdowns including the game-winner – a 31-yard play with 0:53 left in the game...Had nine receptions for 143 yards in the Nevada victory (11/24)...119 yards on five receptions at Fresno State (10/20).
COMMUNITY COLLEGE: One of the top pass catchers in the California Community College system a year ago....A 2006 JC GridWire third-team All-American and a first-team Region IV all-state selection for Santa Ana College (Coach Gerry Gross)...12th nationally in receptions with 54 catches for 842 yards and nine touchdowns...Touchdown total in 2006 was eighth among pass catchers in the California Community College system...Took up football when he enrolled at Santa Ana College and caught one pass in the only game he played in 2005.
HIGH SCHOOL: Richmond is a graduate of Garden Grove (Calif.) High...Was a three-time, first-team all-league selection in basketball and the 2005 Most Valuable Player of the Garden Grove League...Led the league in scoring with a 20.9 average and was the Most Valuable Player of the 2005 Orange County All-Star Game.
