AT SAN JOSE STATE: Third season with the Spartans...Returning first-team All-WAC player...Duke and his older brother, Carl, a San Jose State defensive end, are one of the team’s two brother tandems...Tops the 2009 opening fall depth chart at a safety spot...Returns to safety after playing as a linebacker in 2008...Named with his brother by www.espn.com senior writer Bruce Feldman as one of the top-10 brother combinations in college football history...Has 18 major college starts heading into the 2009 season.

2008: Became the first known brother tandem in NCAA history to lead the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) or Division I-A in separate major statistical categories in the same week...Following the games played on October 18, Duke shared the national lead with four interceptions in seven games and Carl tied for the top spot in tackles for loss with 14.0…Finished 2008 as the WAC leader in interceptions at 0.42 per game and was 19th nationally...Was the first of 12 FBS players among the top 100 to return two interceptions for touchdowns in 2008...One of only two defensive players to score touchdowns via interceptions in back-to-back games...43-yard touchdown return in the Utah State win (10/11) and 43-yard score in the New Mexico State victory (10/18)...His two interceptions in the Utah State win were the only time in 2008 a Spartan had two thefts in a game...Fifth on the Spartans with 66 tackles...Had a pair of double-digit tackle games...Season-high 13 stops (6 solo, 7 assisted) with 2.0 tackles for loss and a fumble recovery against Boise State (10/24)...11 tackles (3 solo, 8 assisted) against Louisiana Tech (11/8)...Notched 3.0 tackles for loss at Nevada (11/15).

2007: Played in 10 games and his six starts were the most for any San Jose State freshman who played defense in 2007...Ninth on the Spartans with 32 tackles...Most tackles in a season by a San Jose State freshman since the 2004 season...Season-high seven tackles (3 solo, 4 assisted) and forced a fumble in a starting role against Hawai’i (10/12)...Contributed six stops (4 solo, 2 assisted) in the Nevada win (11/24)...Tied for second on the team with four pass break-ups...Was credited with the team’s only punt block of the season in the UC Davis triumph (9/29).

HIGH SCHOOL: Rated #54 nationally as a safety by Scout.com...An All-West Region pick by PrepStar...Also was an All-C.I.F. and two-time all-league choice for Serra High School in Gardena, Calif. (Coach Scott Altenberg)...Credited with 73 tackles, five pass break-ups and one interception on defense... Caught 17 passes for 335 yards and one touchdown as a wide receiver in 2006... As a junior, he was fifth on the team in tackles with 50, broke up 11 passes, was credited with three fumble recoveries and intercepted two passes... Also returned punts and averaged 10.4 yards per return...Ihenacho was a three-sport letterwinner who played basketball his freshman and sophomore seasons...Was a long jumper and triple jumper on the track and field team...Finished second in the triple jump at the C.I.F.
