For the third time this season, nationally-ranked San Jose State University and the University of Southern California will meet in women's water polo action. The stakes are higher for each as the march for a NCAA Championship big begins with quarterfinal round competition in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) tournament, April 27, at the Avery Aquatic Stadium on the Stanford University campus.
The #9-ranked Spartans (18-11) and the #2-ranked Trojans (19-4) meet in a 2:30 p.m. match, the third of four quarterfinal round contests in the three-day tournament.
San Jose State seeks its first win against USC this season and in program history dating back to 1997. The Trojans have wins of 14-5 in the Stanford Invitational and 8-5 in a MPSF match on April 6 at San Jose State.
The Spartans closed out the regular season winning four of their last six matches.
