|Gymnastics Scores 194.900, Four Win Events|
San Jose, Calif.-Four different Spartan women's gymnasts won or tied for first on all four events Friday night as San Jose State scored its second-highest team score of the season with a 194.900. The tri-meet at Spartan Gym also featured Maryland who scored a 194.250 and California who had a 192.475.
Thomasina Wallace won three events and the all-around to lead the Spartans. She tied for first on the vault with a 9.850, tied for first with teammate Alyssa Telles-Nolan on the bars with a 9.825, tied for first on the beam with teammate Julia Greer and two others at 9.825 and won her fifth consecutive all-around title with a 39.350.
Katie Valleau won the floor with a 9.900, tying her career-best.
San Jose State started the meet with a season-best 48.825 on vault, tying for the eighth-highest in school history. After Wallace's 9.850, Casey McCord scored a career-best 9.775, Cassandra Harrison with a 9.750, Julia Greer tying her career best at 9.725, Katie Valleau tying her career high with a 9.725 and Alyssa Montalban at 9.650.
Greer and Wallace led the Spartan beam team to a 48.275 after they each scored a 9.825. Cami Guyer scored a career-best 9.700, followed by Gregory at 9.675, Katie Valleau at 9.250 and Tauny Shearer at 8.850.
Trailing Maryland heading into the final rotation, the Spartan floor team shined with a season-best 49.075. Valleau's 9.900 led the team, followed by Wallace at 9.850, McCord and Greer at 9.800, Harrison at 9.725 and Montalban at 9.600.
San Jose State competes next Friday, March 2, in a non-conference meet at UC Davis.
