2008: Was the only Spartan to play in all 56 games in 2008, starting all but one...started 29 games at third base and 26 at shortstop, leading the team in doubles (17), RBI (42) and walks (34)...started in every spot in the batting order except fourth, eighth and ninth, but mostly in third (46)...batted .276 (59-for-214) with 44 runs and three triples...smacked four home runs in 2008, all at home, including a game-tying, two-run blast with one out in the eighth inning of a 10-9 victory over rival Santa Clara (3/1)...matched a school record by reaching base safely in 11 consecutive plate appearances in March, with a double, two singles, five walks, a hit-by-pitch and two errors...went 3-for-4 with a walk, home run, two doubles, and season highs of four runs and four RBI, against SFSU (4/30)...went 3-for-3 with a walk, double, hit-by-pitch, two runs and three RBI against Saint Mary’s (3/18)...also had three-hit games at Santa Clara (2/29), with two of them doubles, and at Washington State (4/26)...hit a three-run home run on the first pitch of the at-bat in the fifth to break open a close game at 2-1 against Sacramento State (3/15)...also blasted a three-run shot in a home win over Nevada on the final weekend, to give his team a 5-0 lead in the third...drew four walks at NMSU (3/20) and three against Utah (2/22)...strung together a pair of six-game hit streaks...16 multi-hit and 10 multi-RBI games in all...earned the Golden Glove award from the Spartan coaches...committed eight errors over 91 defensive chances (.912) as he started out the year at third base, but then just three miscues in 116 chances (.974) over the final 27 games following a move back to shortstop at Sacramento State (4/11)...selected to the College Baseball Foundation’s preseason watch list of the 2008 Brooks Wallace Award, which annually recognizes the national college baseball Player of the Year...Baseball America and Rivals.com preseason All-WAC teams...spent the 2008 summer playing for the Chatham A’s of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.

2007: Produced a stellar rookie campaign, garnering Freshman All-America recognition from two media outlets...Collegiate Baseball Newspaper named him a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American...also tabbed the Ping!Baseball All Ping! Freshman Third Team shortstop...earned second-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors...chosen to the WAC All-Tournament Team after hitting .400 (6-for-15) with four runs, two home runs and three RBI in four games at the event in Reno, Nev....was the only Spartan to start all 60 games...tied for the team lead in hits (81), second in doubles (14) and RBI (47), and third in runs (48), home runs (6) and walks (24)...was tied for 14th in the WAC in batting, tied for sixth in hits, total plate appearances (276) and sacrifice flies (4), seventh in at-bats (236), tied for 10th in RBI, eighth in defensive chances (381), seventh in assists (142) and tied for 10th in fielding double plays (36)...hit two home runs in a game twice for the Spartans in 2007, including an 11-9 loss at Nevada in their WAC Tournament finale (5/26)...went 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI in that game...hit his first two collegiate home runs in a 15-7 triumph at LMU (2/25), the first a three-run shot to cap a seven-run seventh inning, and the second a towering solo shot deep to left in the ninth...finished that game 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a season-best five RBI...earned WAC Hitter of the Week honors (2/26) and a spot on the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll (2/27) following the LMU series, as he hit .600 (9-for-15) and slugged 1.200 (18 total bases) with eight runs scored (two of them game-winners), three doubles, two home runs and nine RBI in helping the Spartans to wins in three out of four games for the week, leaving just one runner on base...also did not commit a single error over 45 defensive chances at first base during that same week, including a season-high 22 chances handled cleanly in a 12-inning, 6-5 loss at LMU (2/24)...did not commit an error over 165 straight chances to begin the season...hit his first career WAC home run at New Mexico State (5/13), a two-run shot to left center on a full count during a five-run first inning in a 12-5 win...hit his first home run at San Jose Municipal Stadium, a three-run shot in the third, in a 10-6 win over USF (3/13), going 1-for-4 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored...went 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, three runs scored and two RBI in a 9-8 home victory over California (2/20), and 2-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and two RBI in a 17-8 home win over Nevada (5/19)...longest hit streak was eight games (4/15-4/28)...also had a pair of seven-game hit streaks...provided 24 multi-hit games, including eight of the three-hit variety, and 14 multi-RBI games...had a trio of three-RBI games, in his home debut against Saint Mary’s (2/3), again at home against USF (3/13), and at Nevada in the WAC Tournament (5/26)...started at shortstop (38), first base (17), third base (4) and DH (1)...batted in every spot in the lineup from third to eighth, but mostly in the cleanup role (21)...voted the Rookie of the Year by teammates...recipient of a Coaches’ Award...was named to a Top Newcomer list for the WAC by Baseball America prior to the season.

2007 SUMMER: Selected the No. 2 prospect in the New England Collegiate Baseball League by Baseball America following his summer for the Holyoke Giants...named the All-NECBL first-team shortstop...chosen to start for the North Team in the NECBL All-Star Game (7/22)...won the NECBL Home Run Derby prior to the All-Star Game as one of seven invited participants in the contest, belting four home runs in the final round...led Holyoke to the Northern Division regular-season crown and the Northern Division championship series, losing to the eventual repeat NECBL champion Vermont Mountaineers, two games to none...led the team in batting with a .341 (46-for-135) average during the regular season...started 42 of 43 games played, including all five post-season contests, as Holyoke finished 28-19...also led the team in hitting during the five playoff games, with an average of .429 (9-for-21)...for the summer, hit .353 (55-for-156) with 24 runs scored, 14 doubles, two triples, three home runs, 22 runs batted in, 82 total bases, 24 walks, five hit-by-pitches and one stolen base in two attempts...fielded .944 (69-99-10) and slugged .526.

SANTA TERESA HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three years in baseball at San Jose’s Santa Teresa High School (Coach Steve Beaulieu)...a two-time first-team all-league selection...earned first-team All-Central Coast Section and Blossom Valley Athletic League Mt. Hamilton Division Most Valuable Player honors as a senior in 2006, finishing 4-2 with four saves as the closer on the mound while also playing shortstop...helped Santa Teresa equal its best section playoff finish by advancing to the Division I semifinals...along the way, the Saints knocked off San Benito High School, featuring Bellows’ teammates Breyon Canez and Karson Klauer, 5-1, before losing to eventual champion Bellarmine College Prep, ending the campaign with a 21-7 mark.
