Frandsen Signs Extension With Phillies

Philadelphia, Pa. --  Six-year Major League Baseball veteran and San Jose State Spartan Kevin Frandsen has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The third baseman who had been eligible for salary arbitration hit .338 with 10 doubles, 14 RBI and a .383 on-base percentage in 55 games with the Phillies last season.

Frandsen was an infielder for the Spartans from 2001-2004. His 246 career hits are second-most in San Jose State's history and he is also fifth all-time with 142 career runs scored. In 2002 he was a First-Team All-Western Athletic Conference selection.

A career .267 hitter in the majors, Frandsen has played in 283 games with the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and Philadelphia Phillies.
