SPARTAN NOTES: Completed his fourth season with the Spartans...A two-time Academic All-WAC performer and three-time San Jose State University Scholar-Athlete...One of eight Spartans in 2010-11 to hail from San Jose, Calif.

2012: Made two appearances at the end of the season after overcoming injury...Recorded the final out of the top of the ninth on May 15 versus UC Davis, sending the Spartans to a six-run rally in the bottom half that nearly won them the game...Faced three batters on Senior Day and recorded the final out of the season against New Mexico State on May 20.

2011: Made 15 starts in 16 appearances…Finished fourth on the team with 72 1/3 innings pitched and 59 strikeouts…Held opponents to a .281 batting average, which dropped to .2219 with two outs…Went 8 1/3 innings, surrending just three hits with five strikeouts in a 3-0 win at Sacramento State on May 1… Went six innings with five strikeouts in an 8-3 win versus Utah (March 12)…Posted a season-high seven strikeouts twice, first versus Brown (March 29), then against Pacific (May 10)…Had three straight starts of at least seven innings with games at UC Davis (April 26), at Sacramento State (May 1) and versus Pacific (May 10), all of which were Spartan victories… Was second on the team with 4.52 innings per appearance.

2010: Had three starts among 15 appearances...gave up 45 hits and 33 earned runs in 32.1 innings with a 9.19 ERA...starts came at La Tech (4/10), at Fresno State (5/15) and vs. Fresno State (5/29)...fanned a career high five against UC Davis (3/23)...struckout four vs. Fresno State in the WAC Tournament...finished 3-3 and third on the team in wins...fifth on the team with 29 strikeouts...averaged 2.16 innings per outing. 

2009: Made three appearances after recovering from offseason surjury... Pitched 3.2 innings with two strikeouts...Debut came in ninth inning relief agasint Louisiana Tech (April 11)...Tossed a season-high three innings against Pacific (April 14)...Went 2/3 innings against Fresno Pacific (April 22).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of San Jose's Bellarmine College Preparatory...Played four years for SJSU Baseball Hall of Famer Gary Cunningham...Did not pitch as a senior due to injury...Earned honorable mention All-West Catholic Athletic League as a junior, posting a 5-2 record and 3.64 ERA...Pitched in the CBCA North-South State All-Star Series...Went 2-0 as a sophomore with a 2.90 ERA and 19 strikeouts over 19.1 innings pitched and helped the team to the Central Coast Section Division I crown.

ANDY: Majoring in business administration...Enjoys fishing, camping, golfing and playing video games...Played for California Smoke Baseball Club (Coach Joel Kaufman) of San Leandro, Calif....pitched for the Nor-Cal Longhorns of the Horizon Air Summer Series in Burlingame, Calif., during summer 2011...Has five younger siblings...A native of Los Gatos, Calif., Andrew Joseph Hennessey was born March 13, 1990.
