|Women's Golf To Colorado For NCAA West Regional|
Indianapolis, Ind.-After winning their fourth consecutive Western Athletic Conference championship, the San Jose State women's golf team will play at the NCAA West Regional, May 10-12, at the Colorado National Golf Club in Erie, Colo. The Spartans received the conference's automatic bid to the regional.
San Jose State is one of 24 teams playing at the West Regional. The top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championship, May 22-25 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club in Franklin, Tenn. The top two individuals, not on an advancing team, also advance to the championship.
Teams participating at the West Regional include UCLA, LSU, North Carolina, Colorado, California, Baylor, Pepperdine, UC Davis, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Tulsa, TCU, Iowa State, Stanford, Denver, UNLV, New Mexico, Oregon State, Illinois, Kennesaw State, San Jose State, Missouri State, Northern Colorado and Jackson State.
"We are excited about the opportunity to continue our season at regionals," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "We improved in each tournament we played at this spring and hope to carry that momentum into the regional. It is an exciting and challenging compete against the nation's best team in postseason action."
