San Jose-Spartans Madeleine Ziegert and Jordanne Barr are tied for 12th and Jennifer Brumbaugh 16th after two rounds of the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational hosted by San Jose State at the Almaden Golf and Country Club.  The Spartans are tied for fifth with a 604, and California leads the field by five strokes at 583.

Ziegert shot the low score for the Spartans in the first round with a 72.  She made three birdies in that round and followed up with a 76 in the second round to finish at 148.

Barr shot a 75 in her first round of the day and followed that with a 73, the team's low score in the second round.  She made three birdies in each round.

Brumbaugh is tied for 16th with a 150, shooting a 76 in round one and a 74 in the second.  She made two birdies in each of her rounds Monday.

Kathleen Rojas is currently tied for 38th after shooting a 77 and 81, while Megan Osland is tied for 53rd at 162.

California, the three-time defending tournament champion, shot a one-under 287 in the first round and followed that with a 296 for a 583 and a five-shot lead over UC Davis who shot a 588.

Individually, Golden Bear Daniela Holmqvist shot a four-under par 140 and has a one-shot lead over teammate Joanne Lee at 141.  Three players shot a 69 in a round Monday - Holmqvist (2^nd round), Demi Runas of UC Davis (2^nd round) and Cassy Isagawa of Oregon (1^st round).  Isagawa led the field after the first round with her round of 69 that included an eagle on the par-5 18^th hole.

Final round action begins Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30.  Admission to the tournament is free.
