The graduate of Cardinal Newman High (Coach Paul Cronin) was an outside linebacker that received first-team all-league honors as a junior and a senior. He enjoys outdoor activities and snowboarding, in particular. Guanella plans to major in business management. The Santa Rosa, Calif., native was born on March 10, 1993.

Coach Caragher on Garrett: "Garrett is a big, rangy defensive end/outside linebacker  who is versatile - he can rush the QB from a down lineman position and drop off into coverage and play in open space.  Garrett makes a lot of plays on film - be it sacks, batted down passes, and open field tackles.  We think he's another guy who can come in at a position where we lost some guys and help us out."
