JORDAN THIEL TE 6-5 230 FR Simi Valley HS/Simi Valley, Calif.

After nearly doubling his pass receiving total from his junior season, Jordan heads to San Jose State as a tight end hopeful. Thiel (Teal) caught 44 passes for 513 yards and five touchdowns at Simi Valley (Calif.) High (Coaches Ryan Taggart, Lance Martin) in 2011. As a senior, he was a team captain, named his team’s Most Outstanding Offensive Player and was a second-team All-Marmonte League choice. Thiel was an honorable mention all-league pick as a junior who caught 25 passes for 297 yards and three touchdowns. Jordan concluded his high school football career playing in the 2012 Los Angeles Daily News All-Star game. He is contemplating being a kinesiology major. Thiel is a three-year member of the National Society of High School Scholars who enjoys wakeboarding. His brother, Austin Thiel, is a pitcher for Cal State Monterey Bay. His uncle, Norm Thiel, played football at Oregon State from 1954 through 1956. The Santa Barbara, Calif., native was born on May 5, 1994.
