2007: Once a fixture for the Spartans at defensive end, Gilbert moved inside to tackle in mid-season...Earned 2007 second-team All-Western Athletic Conference honors leading San Jose State linemen in total tackles with 39 (23 solo, 16 assisted)...Only Spartan defensive lineman to start in every 2007 game...Second on the team in sacks with 4.0 including 2.0 sacks in the New Mexico State victory (11/10)....Productive games a year ago also included six solo stops in the Utah State win (9/22) – the most by a Spartan defensive lineman in four seasons...Single-game career best 7 hits (5 solo, 2 assisted) versus Hawaii (10/12).

2006: Started 10 games and played in all 13...Finished season with 32 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss...Led Spartans with 5.0 sacks... Recorded a multiple-sack game against Louisiana Tech...Notched career high of five tackles twice: against Utah State and Louisiana Tech... Posted four tackles and recorded the team’s only sack in the New Mexico Bowl victory.

2005: Occasional starter and played in every game...Was credited with 22 tackles and 3.0 quarterback sacks... credited with his season-high five tackles in the Eastern Washington win and at Utah State.

2004: Joined the team for fall drills and redshirted the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in football (Coach John Monger), basketball and track and field at Chino (Calif.) High School... Was an All-Sierra League selection in football and basketball.
