16 Football Players Receive All-WAC Honors

Denver, Colo.-The 24th-ranked San Jose State football team continued to add to its honors list on Monday as 16 Spartans were named either first or second team All-Western Athletic Conference honorees, as voted upon by the league's head coaches.

San Jose State led the way with the 16 honorees, the most by any team this season.  On the first team, four offensive players received honors - wide receiver Noel Grigsby, tight end Ryan Otten, lineman Nicholas Kaspar and tackle David Quessenberry.

Defensively, Travis Johnson was named the WAC Defensive Player of the Year and four others were also named to the first team all-defense - lineman Travis Raciti, linebacker Vince Buhagiar, linebacker Keith Smith and cornerback Bené Benwikere.

Honored on the second team for offense were - wide receiver Chandler Jones, quarterback David Fales and running back De'Leon Eskridge.

Honored on the second team for defense were linemen Anthony Larceval and David Tuitupou.

Honored on the second team for special teams were kicker Austin Lopez and kick returner Tyler Ervin.

The Spartans 10-2 season continues with one more game at the Military Bowl presented by Northrop Grumman on December 27 at 3 p.m. EST/12 p.m. PST.
