Baton Rouge, La.-----San Jose State University football offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Brian Lindgren is one of four finalists for the 2012 FootballScoop Quarterbacks Coach of the Year Award.

            The award is one of several presented by ProGrass at the Annual American Football Coaches Association annual January convention honoring "...the most outstanding coaches in college football."

            In his first season with the Spartans, Lindgren coached and coordinated the most accurate passing offense among the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools. In team categories, San Jose State currently ranks third in passing efficiency and 11th in passing yards. During the regular season, the Spartans set team records for pass completions, touchdown passes and passing yards.

            Lindgren joined the San Jose State staff after six seasons at Northern Arizona University.

            The other three finalists for the FootballScoop Quarterbacks Coach of the Year Award are Mark Helfrich of Oregon, Tom Herman of Ohio State and Del Miller of Kansas State.
